CHAMBER 1

Mech Media

The first chamber contains a thick, high-quality reusable sponge. This section filters and prevents detritus such as livestock waste and plant matter from building up in other chambers. This sponge is easily installed and removed for cleaning during filter maintenance. Remove the sponge regularly to prevent overflow spills caused by clogs.
CHAMBER 2

Bio Media

Porous ceramic Bio Blocks are located in the second filter chamber. This section is vital for beneficial bacteria colonization. Beneficial bacteria in the aquarium maintain and contribute significantly to the balance and stability of the entire ecosystem. Extra space is available to accommodate additional filter media, if desired. This type of media does not require regular maintenance and should only be lightly rinsed periodically, as needed.
CHAMBER 3

Power Head Pump

The final chamber houses a small, powerful powerhead water pump. This piece of equipment is essential for providing the flow of cleaned water back into the aquarium. Tubing is pre-installed for convenience. This pump is fully submersible and should not be allowed to run dry. Please unplug it during aquarium maintenance.

Slide DAY 1 AQUASCAPE SETTING Choosing hardscape materials that are appropriately sized for the dimensions of the aquarium is crucial for maintaining balance and perspective in an aquascape. If a hardscape element is too large or too small for its space, it can disrupt the visual harmony of the planted tank. DAY 30 MATURITY AND OVERGROWTH While it’s common practice to combine plants that grow at different rates, a potential challenge is that fast-growing plants can quickly dominate and overshadow their slower-growing counterparts. This can lead to even robust species like Anubias receiving limited exposure to light. DAY 130 MAINTENANCE To ensure slower-growing plants receive adequate light, it’s important to regularly prune and replant aquatic stem plants. Doing so promotes healthier growth for all plants and results in a denser and more compact appearance of the stem plants. DAY 135 UPKEEP Once plants are established and firmly rooted, detritus can often become trapped between leaves and rhizomes. To maintain the longevity of an aquascape, it’s important to regularly clean and remove debris from these areas. THE ULTUM NATURE SYSTEM
