AQUATIC PLANTS

NATURE’S KEEP
Aquarium Vibrancy And Life

Aquatic plants add vibrancy and life to the aquarium. Our vast collection of aquatic plants cover requests ranging from hardy, low maintenance species such as Anubias for beginners to the rare and exotic choices of Bucephalandra and other plants for the advanced hobbyist. Keeping aquatic plants in an aquarium tank provides a natural source of water filtration, security for fish and are proven to be an outlet for stress relief while encouraging productivity and a positive mood. Luckily, you’ll never need to remember to water them.

DAY 1 A Dutch-style aquascape was built using two Terrace 30s within the UNS 60U Rimless Aquarium. Each Terrace features three adjustable planting levels, designed to hold Controsoil and elevate aquatic plants at varying heights. This arrangement allows stem plants placed higher to receive optimal light without casting excessive shade on the growth below. TANK: UNS 60U 20.5 Gallons (77.8 Liters)
SUBSTRATE: UNS Controsoil Black Extra Fine
LIGHTING: 8 hours
MAINTENANCE: 50% water change weekly
ACCESSORIES: 2× UNS Terrace 30

PLANTS USED:
Hydrocotyle tripartita 'Mini'
Rotala wallichii
Mayaca fluviatilis
Rotala sp. 'Coin Leaf'
Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia'
Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini'
Ludwigia glandulosa var. 'Diamond'
Ludwigia sp. 'Ovalis'
Ludwigia repens
Ammannia sp. 'Nesaea Crassicaulis'
Staurogyne repens
Micranthemum tweediei 'Monte Carlo'
Limnophila aromatica 'Mini'
DAY 1
LAYOUT
SETTING
4 Months An initial trim was necessary to manage the rapid plant growth. Without maintenance, dense foliage would block light from reaching the lower levels, leading to deterioration and algae growth over time. Regular trimming not only ensures healthy light distribution but also preserves the intended form and balance of the aquascape. Curved Scissors
A great tool for initial removal of overgrown stem plant tops while trimming to shape at the same time.
Wave Scissors
Slightly more ergonomic to use and can be used for fine tuning and shaping heavily planted areas.
120 DAYS
Growth
4 Months 2 After reshaping, the healthiest trimmings were replanted into their original sections to conceal any noticeable cut lines. This technique maintains a seamless appearance, giving the impression that the aquascape was never trimmed, while allowing the plants to continue maturing in a more refined and orderly way. Straight Tweezers
A staple tool in every aquascaper's arsenal.
Spring Scissors
Provides precision and detailed trimming.

Slide Terrace A modular planting system that creates elevated planting layers, allowing aquatic plants to grow at multiple heights while maximizing light exposure and aquascape depth. Controsoil A balanced planted aquarium substrate designed to support healthy root development, stable water parameters, and long-term plant growth. Available in multiple granule sizes to accommodate different aquatic plant species. Controbase A nutrient-rich foundation layer that promotes vigorous root development while providing long-term nutritional support for demanding aquatic plants. Plant Food Min An all-in-one liquid fertilizer that supplies essential macro and micronutrients to support healthy aquatic plant growth in newly established or nutrient-rich planted aquariums. To establish a strong foundation, Controbase was placed beneath Controsoil to support long-term root development and sustained plant growth. Following planting and filling, Plant Food MIN was dosed at the recommended rate to provide essential nutrients. + + +

STEM BUNCHED
A Variety Of Colors, Sizes, And Shapes

Aquatic stem plant bunches are 4-8 young plants or stems that are bundled together with the help of a small anchor to keep them weighted for easy keeping. As stem bunches generally have a small root system, we recommend keeping a consistent maintenance schedule and performing water changes regularly to encourage healthy growth. Roots establish generally quick after planting in a quality aquarium substrate. Stem bunches are relatively easy, fast-growing aquatic plants that are ideal for the start-up phase.

POTTED
Simple To Display And Organize

Pots are usually packed flush and contain a larger mass of aquatic plants that are, in most cases, more mature with a developed root system. Potted aquatic plants provide a healthy portion of plants that can be divided into several portions or, depending on the plant, can be planted in an aquarium as one piece. As the name suggests, the plants come in separate little pots that are quite easy to transport and display to one's liking.

PLANTED DECOR
Ready To Use

Our aquatic planted decor contains a wide selection of coconut husk, coco fiber, stainless steel mesh, driftwood and rocks that are readily planted. Great for beginners, aquatic planted decor aides in creating an instant aquascape. Fitted with low maintenance aquatic plant species such as Anubias, Ferns, and mosses, aquatic planted decor can be used to create an entirely new aquascape layout, as a nice accent piece in an existing aquascape or added to give a sense of maturity in a planted aquarium from the start.

TISSUE CULTURE
Algae, Pest, And Disease-Free

Tissue culture plants are very young aquatic plants that are cultivated in-vitro by laboratories who specialize in propagating aquatic plants. The growth method used for tissue culture guarantees that these plants are free from any pests, algae, and pesticides making them 100% safe for even the most sensitive shrimp and fish. There is a vast selection of plant species that are available via tissue culture and its compact growth gives a very generous portion for planting. Utilizing quality fertilizers and CO2 in the initial stage will encourage beautiful and healthy growth from the beginning.

NOTE: It is important to remove the tissue culture agar gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away, divide, and plant.
